By 2023 I had reached the lowest point of my life. Living in Charleston, SC, I was in the middle of a painful custody battle and experiencing a season when I had little contact with my children. I felt completely broken and had nowhere to turn but to God. I spent the next year in church, learning who Jesus truly is and praying for His mercy and grace. After nearly seven years away from music, I picked up my guitar one quiet weekend and wrote “Surrender” as an honest expression of letting go of control and trusting God with what I could not fix on my own.
