After returning to music during a difficult season of divorce and custody, I was blessed with regular, meaningful time with my children. Those simple moments — waking them up, carrying them downstairs, watching them grow — took on deeper significance. I realized how easy it is to overlook everyday blessings until they are almost taken away. “For Granted” was written from a place of gratitude and awareness, a reminder to slow down and appreciate what is right in front of you.
