Written during the same season as “Rise Above,” Simple Days came from a place of quiet nostalgia and spiritual searching. In 2002, as I was starting to feel that inner pull toward something deeper, I found myself longing for a kind of peace I couldn’t quite name — a return to innocence, clarity, and simplicity. Life felt louder and more complicated than it should have, and I wrestled with the feeling that I was drifting from the version of myself I was meant to become. “Simple Days” captures that tension between chaos and calm — a longing to get back to something pure, while slowly realizing that true peace isn’t behind you in the past, but found when you let God meet you where you are.
